Darren Butler - Team Driver

Darren has a few issues that can and have been very debilitating over the years. He has Tourette Syndrome, EPD, ADHD and Intercostal Fibromyalgia, to name a few. These dont and wont define who he is. Darren or Phoenix as he is known has been a racer since videogames were a thing and wanted to get back into Sim Racing what started as some support became an offer to represent the team, as Phoenix represents everything Phoenix Sim Racing is about.

Erik Axelsson - Mean Green Racing Machine

At the beginning of 2023 Erik and Josh teamed up forming ‘Mean Green Racing Team’ and both support what phoenix sim racing are aiming to achieve and what they stand for. We proudly run the phoenix logo on our cars. I am aiming to get back to competing in a real world car racing championship next year and continue to race virtually for the foreseeable future.

Josh Martin - Mean Green Racing Machine

Josh started his racing journey when he was 7 years old at “Let’s Go Karting Shenington” after going there a few times. Josh got his first kart and karting license at the age of 8 and raced Honda cadets and then went on to JNR X30 always as a lad and dad team, in that time we won 8 championships and set multiple lap records. 3X Welsh Champion, 2X midland champion, NKRA Champion, Kartmania Champion, rissington kart club champion.

Josh then made the transition to car racing, as a privateer/lad and dad team he spent the first year building our own car and doing a lot of testing ready for our first season of car racing in the Mini Challenge Cooper Class.

Covid then hit putting a stop to the real world racing but a start to sim racing. Josh started off racing in season one and two of the Virtual Mini Challenge Championship. The past year Josh been competing in the VRRC Wednesday night championships and then winning his first sim championship at the end of 2022

Adversity doesn’t make you it reveals you! The Phoenix is rising!
